Lead Us Not Into Temptation
Nearing the end of his series of short devotionals on the Lord’s Prayer, Pastor Peter Linnecar shares how we should pray that God would “lead us not into temptation.”
When Jesus said and lead us not into temptation, he knew what he was talking about. He himself was tempted in the wilderness by the devil. He resisted temptation by the word of God. And he was tempted in every way as we are tempted. But, do you know, each time we are tempted he provides a way of escape so that we needn’t succumb. And so when he taugh his disciples to pray, and lead us not into temptation, he was simply meaning that when God tests our faith, there is no way that we’re meant to go through something which will submerge us. He knows the circumstances of our life. Lead us not into temptation is siply God sayin to us that he will keep us and protect us as he increases our faith through thee trials of life.
